To the End explores the key struggles, complexities and transformative insights of queer divorce

We have too few media outlets exploring the personal, political and psychosocial impact of divorce on queer communities. As more queer people reach the threshold of divorce, we have an opportunity to expand our knowledge on the ways in which marriage ends and a new life begins.

To the End brings recognition and clarity to the fairly new phenomenon of (legal) queer divorce while making space for narratives where divorce manifests in the aftermath of coming out as gay, queer, trans or nonbinary.

  • Syd Yang is an ordained Buddhist minister, chaplain, writer, speaker, teacher and group facilitator. 

  • Teré Fowler-Chapman is a poet, educator, dynamic cultural worker, and youth advocate whose multifaceted work spans poetry, visual arts, and community engagement.

  • Thomas Beatie is a writer, public speaker and transgender advocate who publicly recorded his pregnancy experience.

  • Dominika Bednarska is a queer disabled femme author from the Bronx who has lived and worked in the East Bay for the last twenty years. Dominika was a Lambda Literary Fellow and a Holloway Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley, where she completed her PhD in English and disability studies. Her full-length solo show, My Body Love Story, appeared at the National Queer Arts Festival at the Garage Theater in San Francisco. Her writing has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize in poetry.
